O’Connor to Strengthen and Scale Business Development, Enhancing Ironmark’s Rapidly Growing National Customer Base

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Ted O’Connor as Ironmark’s Senior VP of National Accounts.

O’Connor will add another layer of strategic networking to Ironmark, and plans to leverage his four decades in the industry to bolster Ironmark’s national footprint. An industry veteran with over 40 years in the business, O’Connor previously led business development as a principal at the world-renowned paper company, Mohawk.

When asked about Ted joining the team, Ironmark President Matt Marzullo knew they were getting one of the best in the business. “The opportunity to bring Ted on was one we instantly jumped at. His print industry connections, his stature, his resume. This is a huge value to us and to our future growth plans.”

O’Connor has spent his life in the paper business, but when COVID-19 hit the industry, he knew it was time for a change. Change meant leaving Rhode Island, starting fresh with a new company, and moving to be closer to his family, who all live in the DMV area.

The decision to join Ironmark was officially made real when Ted met with Matt Marzullo and CEO Jeff Ostenso over lunch.

“Instantly, I could see how forward-thinking Ironmark was,” Ted remarked about the meeting. “The print industry has changed, and the ones surviving are thriving — specifically those with vision and leadership like Ironmark. Ironmark is doing things no one else in the print business is doing. I’m excited for this next adventure with Ironmark.”

When Ironmark CEO Jeff Ostenso speaks about Ted joining the team, there is no limit to what the future can bring. “The diversification of what Ironmark does, the focus on multiple verticals, our work-life balance; all of this aligned with where Ted is at in his career. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have him join the team and take Ironmark to the next level.”

For Ted, it’s about the customer. It’s been this way for the last four decades, and it’s why he chose Ironmark. “I am always trying to work for our customer. This is a relationship business. I still think there is so much opportunity out there. In the end, it all comes back to what you can do for the customer. That’s why I am still here and that’s why I joined Ironmark.”
